YOUR TOTAL HIRE COSTS INCLUDE:

VAT, DAMAGE WAIVER, LINEN. 1 set of WET WEATHER GEAR, CAR PARKING, BUOYANCY AIDS- if required.

DIESEL and CALOR GAS — though cold weather bookings may incur a gas charge if replacements needed whilst on hire.
I pet goes free, others are charged at £25.00 each per week, £20 per short break.

USE OF CANAL LOCKS, WATER TAPS AND MOORINGS. Please note the boats are licensed for the Rivers so if you want to go on the Canals in London or elsewhere you will need a Canal Licence we will refund this to you on your return. Private marinas will make an overnight charge and on the River Thames above Teddington Lock you sometimes have to pay for water, moorings and another licence fee. We will also refund the Thames licence fee on bookings of 2 weeks or more.

There will be up to 2% surcharge on all credit card payments.

Booking Notes - Please read these notes in conjunction with the hire prices.
1 - Your start date denotes the price band for your short break or first week, any subsequent weeks are priced in the price band they fall.
2 - The star rating is done independently by the English Tourism Council. Boats are rated from 1 star up to 5 star.
3 - ‘Flotilla discount’. 10% on 2nd or more boats booked at the same time for same dates on the cheaper boat(s).
4 - ‘Multi-week bookings’. 10% off 2nd and subsequent weeks.
5 - Add compulsory non returnable Damage Waiver as detailed in last column of price list.
6 - Boats can sometimes start on other days than Friday or Monday, especially out of season. Please ask.
7 - See Booking Form for amount of deposit required, though if within 8 weeks of departure, full amount is payable.

9 - Hire periods other than weeks or short breaks are available.
10 - Boats are available for collection between 2.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. Please note there is NO CRUISING after dark, you cannot see, and you are not insured!
11 - If returning on Sunday evening instead of Monday morning, you must return in daylight and/or by 6 p.m., whichever is the earlier. You must notify us when you collect your boat if this is your intention.
12 - The Lee Valley Boat Centre reserves the right to recommend particular boats if large dogs are included in the booking
If you wish to see a boat, please ring up first to check that the boat is ‘in’ and accessible.
We have maps available at the Boatyard but if you want one before you arrive please tick the box on the Booking Form and enclose payment. The maps we stock are the Geo Project series which are very clear and reasonably up to date. Stations, pubs, undergrounds and water points amongst other things are all clearly marked. People arriving late can be met at various points en route. Maps are in the boat manual.
If you are coming from abroad please let us know your expected time of arrival, especially if early, so we can try and get your boat ready for you.
The terms and conditions state very clearly that all boats should be returned in a clean and tidy condition. If you do not wish to do this, than there is a charge of £30.00
Items that are left behind on boats can be forwarded to you if requested. There will be a £10.00 charge for this to cover postage and packing, to be received by us, prior to despatch.
Remember - every vessel needs a Captain. In the Navy he has scrambled egg on his cap and is called Sir. On a holiday boat he probably has it down his sweater and is called Disgusting. If he shouts ‘duck’ he may be an enthusiastic bird-watcher or he may be warning you that your head is about to strike a low bridge or tree. Damage to bridges, however caused, is against the Bye-Laws!
