The Lee & Stort Navigations link Hertford and Bishop's Stortford along the Lee Valley to the Thames. The Lee & Stort, with some 42 miles of waterways, offer a variety of recreational opportunities and a wealth of scenery from rich industrial heritage to rural countryside - and wildlife habitats.

Boating along the Lee & Stort Navigations can be enjoyed by everyone. Whether in canoes, rowing boats, river cruisers, narrowboats or even dragon boats, the Lee & Stort offer them all. Modern day boats are available for hire at the Lee Valley Boat Centre. They are easy to handle and provide a fun and interesting way for all the family to explore the navigations. Alternatively, public boat trips operate from the Boat Centre which can also be chartered for private parties.

The Boat Centre is closed throughout November. Hourly boats are available March to October. Day boats available all year except November, Christmas and New Year.
